If You Could Read My Mind by Jeanie London

Michael Landry has been happily married to Jillian for the last seven years when suddenly he found he could read his wife’s thoughts. What he saw shocked him. He learned that Jillian wasn’t very happy with their relationship and that if he didn’t do something, they drift apart forever. Realizing he had to change, Michael decides to begin by acting out some of his wife’s sexual fantasies that she never vocalized. But will this be enough or is Michael already too late?

This is perhaps one of the most unusual Blazes I’ve read and I highly recommend it for that reason alone. Jeanie’s story features a very emotional story with some very powerful characters. In many ways this book felt like a single title novel rather than a Blaze, which is perhaps it’s single flaw. Because this story was that it was so far outside the typical Blaze it took me quite a while before I was comfortable with the story and I felt that it could have benefited from the extra space space it would have gotten as a single title. I’m a little surprised that HQN didn’t publish this story, it's that good. Highly recommended.

Into Temptation by Jeanie London

Joshua Benedict fixed problems for a living. Things like retrieving the White Star from the New York Police evidence locker his mysterious boss. That’s why MI6 assigned their best agent, Lindy Gardner, to the case. But Lindy didn’t expect to feel such an attraction to Joshua. She knew it was wrong, since theirs was a relationship that could never be. Yet, when Joshua left a trail for Lindy, Lindy couldn’t resist. It was game of hide and seek, where the stakes were love and death.

Like the previous White Star books, this one captured my attention almost from the beginning. The ending was pretty obvious - I saw it fairly early in the book, but it was well handled. There was just enough doubt on how it would end, that it didn’t really hurt the story. The game of hide and seek worked really well as it allowed the hero and heroine to pit their skills against each other in a bigger game of one-upmanship giving a lot of insight into the characters. Finally, the details Jeanie painted were incredible and worthy of a best selling novel. Even if you’re not following the White Star series, I’d recommend this book as one of the best Blazes of the year.

Going All Out by Jeanie London

Lucas Russell was house sitting for his sister while she was on her honeymoon, when he realized that good things do come from trees, like the luscious Bree Addison had just fallen from the tree in his sister’s front yard. Lucas decided to make the best of a good thing and it wasn’t long before things heated up. However, knowing that Lucas was only in town until his sister returned, meant that Bree wasn’t free to let herself fall in love, that is until a ghostly presence from the past set out to convince her that

The final book in the Red Letter Nights series is a fitting conclusion to the series. It wraps up the story of Addison twins and the ghosts that haunt the court. The beginning was a little slow as it’s been a while since I read Tally’s story and I couldn’t remember all of the secondary characters right away. This always happens when there’s more than a month or so between the original story and its sequel (or about 20 Blazes in between). But, Jeanie eased the characters back in to the story by the middle so the second half was a pretty enjoyable read.
