Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich

Stephanie Plum finds her life in danger again when someone arrives on the scene claiming to be Ranger’s wife and waiving a 9mm Glock. Soon she finds herself working closely with Ranger to locate his kidnapped child. Bullets and bombs and other mayhem await Stephanie as the body count rises. Now will she live long enough to see Thirteen or will her body parts be blasted all over the burb?

Okay, I’m biased. I love Evanovich’s books, but I will admit it’s hard to coming up with fresh stories for characters that have already survived though eleven other books. This book brings with it a fresh twist and gives us some new insight into the mysterious Ranger. A real Stephanie Plum fan would have read this book long before now (and you can now see how much of backlog I really have ) Highly recommended.
