Calamity Jayne Rides Again by Kathleen Bacus

Tressa Jayne Turner, aka, Calamity Jayne, is back, this time dishing ice cream for her uncle at the Iowa State fair. But when a series of suspicious accidents targeted at his ice cream stands, Tressa finds herself in the middle of a mystery. Fortunately, Ranger Rick is on the scene and just in case things go wrong (an absolute certainty with Calamity Jayne), Rick’s grandfather and Tressa’s grandmother are around to provide backup. Rogers and Hammerstein never envisioned a state fair quite like this one. :)

Remember that Tressa is both young (only 23) and mentally challenged (What do you call a blonde in a freezer? A Frosted Flake. ), so the stage is set for tons of comedy and more than a few blonde jokes. So if you ever attended a state fair and wondered about what goes on behind this scenes, and you’re not a stickler for accuracy ) , this book is definitely for you.

Details: Love Spell, July 2006

Bottom line: A very good book
